History:
The start of establishing Abo Simbel airport located at the south of Egypt was at the end of 1964, where a committee of civil aviation authority traveled there at that time to choose a place to be as an airstrip of model (dakouta), to transport the tourists who came to visit Abo Simbel temple after changing its location fearing its drowning after building the high dam
Location:
The airport is located at about 2 miles northeast Abo Simbel city
Capacity:
· The terminal with the capacity of 500 passengers per hour
· The airport includes one runway of 3000 meters long
· Includes also a tarmac with the capacity 8 aircrafts.
· The airport receives about half million tourists in 2006.
